"Sadness is easier because its surrender. I say make time to dance alone with one hand waving free."
to all HARDWORKERS out there, PLEASE TAKE TIME AND REST. i learned it the hard way. for 2 straight years i've been working and working and working; sometims not going home at all... am i a workaholic? ha! maybe. i haven't really been with many workaholics to know it... is there a WA meeting somewhere? haha!
a highlight would be me getting my VERY FIRST credit card! yes, i'm 25 and have just received my very first passport to debt. LOL.
i got to spend extra time with my dog; whom i have sadly neglected those times i didn't go home because of work. ok, let me just explain. my not going back home was by choice. i chose to stay at the office because that's the perfectionist in me. besides, i never would have done that if i didn't love my job; which i do.
during the last month or so, i've actually been hunting for jobs... not very successful though. something tells me it's karma. i believe in that shit, ya know?
on a more serious note... i've been a victim of office politics. never thought it would happen to me; never imagined it would destroy the very core of my being too. it made me feel worthless and undermined. what's worse was that my own boss made it clear he didn't see eye-to-eye with me. a lot of my friends have told me to leave my company, but i can't because i really love my job. i love what i do, i love my friends there. no wonder ELIZABETHTOWN has been my favorite movie lately. for those who missed this cameron crowe masterpiece, elizabethtown is about drew baylor (orlando bloom), a twentysomething shoe designer who gets fired because his design cost his employer $1 BILLION. on top of that, he finds out that his father died. he then goes to kentucky (where the wake was being held) and meets claire (kirsten dunst), a feisty flight attendant, who dutifully reminded drew to "not miss 60 B".
anyway, claire says this of drew's shoe fiasco: "So you failed. Alright you really failed. You failed. You failed. You failed. You failed. You failed. You failed. You failed. You failed. You failed. You failed. You failed. You failed. You think I care about that? I do understand. You wanna be really great? Then have the courage to fail big and stick around. Make them wonder why you're still smiling." which i believe is one of the greatest movie quotes ever. kudos to you, mr. crowe!

coz they're super and natural ;)
1. JENSEN ACKLES and JARED PADALECKI - could they have cast two other HUNKS such as these? i don't think so!
2. the writing - the writing team for this show is at par with another fave show of mine (that's considered such a cult fave, i might add = BUFFY)... excellent story and subplots
3. recurring characters - ruby, bobby, bella, ellen, jo, meg, yellow-eyed demon, dad... they're really something!
4. did i say the 2 main leads are extremely scorching HOT???
5. i'm sure i can come up with more than 5 reasons, but i'm pressed for time here so let me just say this: supernatural may be a scary whatever show, but at the heart of it are these 2 brothers willing to duke it out with evil and sacrifice themselves in the process. i highly recommend watching seasons 1-3. you won't regret it!

being heroic is not exactly what it's cracked up to be

why do i love heroes? let me count the ways... hee! ok, so there might not be a LOT of reasons, but everytime i watch it, i just fall in love all over again...
1. the writing is fantastic! tim kring was so on the money when he wrote this. i'm sure he's a big x-men fan; i mean, look at the way these characters are played out... claire is invincible = wolverine is that you? peter can absorb powers = rogue-ish... he can also RETAIN those powers and even move things with his mind (professor xavier)... the nuclear guy (forgot his name)has ties to pyro... i have yet to see a charcter who has the same powers as storm (maybeisaac mendez, since his eyes turn white too) i dunno...
2. but with the start of season two, we're introduced to new characters --> VERY INTERESTING ones at that. first, there's the infamous takezo kensei... played by the wonderful david anders from alias fame. i love him!!! this show is so getting a boost for the number of really cute, hot guys in it! then there's the much-awaited return to TV by none other than veronica mars herself, kristen bell! :) she's elle; a really shady character, but i love her nonetheless. even before i watched an episode with her in it, i've loved the fact that she's even IN the show; so it was a treat that she's a bad guy. hehe! then there're maya and alejandro --> brother and sister running from honduras to new york to find a "cure" for Maya's "disease".
3. did i say they have hot, hot, HOT guys in this show?
4. who knew takezo kensei had powers? and he seems not to age as he changes his name to one "adam monroe" (the other big bad for this season). who's the other one you ask?
5. why, no one else but SYLAR himself!
6. coolest new power? Elle's and Maya's... Maya's is kinda creepy and freaky, but it serves its purpose: IT FREAKS YOU OUT!
7. coolest power ever? peter's. he absorbs and RETAINS others' powers. how friggin' COOL is that???
8. oh, and milo ventimiglia is incredibly HOT in this season! :) yowza!

the magic of a high school musical

i would have to be honest and say that i was one of the critics of this tv-movie. when it first came out, i just ignored it. i thought it was for kids (Disney produced it, hello?) and that it was just a passing faze. WRONG. dead wrong. i decided to watch it and BOOM! I LIKED IT! actually, more than like, i LOVED it!
a complete turnaround, yes. but if you watched it, you'd love it too. well, that depends. if you love moulin rouge, justin timberlake and all the other musicals out there, then you'd like this too.
the music was the one that surprised me the most. they weren't cheesy or corny or anything like that. they sounded good. in the first installment, the songs WHAT I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR and START OF SOMETHING NEW and BREAKING FREE, the duets for the two leads have all been really good and really stand out. STICK TO THE STATUS QUO and WE'RE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER - songs by the cast - have both been lyrically-driven and they know what they're talking about".
the 2nd movie has been a real treat :) from the very beginning, WHAT TIME IS IT welcomes summer and says goodbye to school work :) the beat and melody and transition has all been well-crafted by the musicians and choreographers - some of it apparently coming from the kids themselves :)
WORK THIS OUT is the most fun of the songs as it really breaks into that "musical/dialogue" song mode. the music was made for a male singer (ZAC EFRON) but the cast joins in on the fun :) YOU ARE THE MUSIC IN ME - my favorite - is the theme of the entire franchise. it speaks not just of young love, but of love itself. the lyrics jump out at you like nothing else, and the music is the most affecting. zac and vanessa give life and soul and power to the song, which gives it its dignity and integrity. had it been sung by any other singers, it may have fallen flat on its face.
vannessa hudgens' GOTTA GO MY OWN WAY is a sad, sad, sad love song, but she gave it its power. coupled with zac in the ending part of the song, it works. they talk about missing each other and not letting go, but mostly it talks about this one girl's independence, not going with the flow; something all young people should go by nowadays.
EVERYDAY is a touching and enlightening song. it speaks of hope, love, and being true to oneself. loved it :) ALL FOR ONE is this really fun and lively song. perfect for summer! whenever i hear it, i'm reminded of the beach boys for some reason :)
all in all, the movies have been a really good addition to pop culture. we would not be the same without them :) go and watch it (whether with your kids or nieces or nephews or by yourself) - i'm sure you'll enjoy! ;)

"Life is funny sometimes. It can push pretty hard but if you look
close enough, you can find hope in the words of children,
in the bars of the song and in the eyes of someone you love.
And if you're lucky, if you're the luckiest person on this entire planet,
the person you love decides to love you back."

there goes my life
i'm in love. definitely. absolutely. confirmed. good part, i see him everyday. bad part? he's married. with a kid. uh huh. or should i say uh-oh? you get the idea... or not. well, whatever. i just wanted to say it out loud. shout it from the mountaintops... or skyrise as it were. no mountains here. just buildings, malls, condos... ok, babbling. but i just realized that what i'm feeling now is the same thing i've felt when i was trying to figure out my feelings for my boyfriend. ok. did i not say i had a boyfriend? YUP. boyfriend. lover. partner. whatever you wanna call it. so there. long story short --> i'm in love with a man who's got a wife and kid (seems happy enough) and i have someone who loves me who i know i also love... talk about the tangled web we weave.
there's this quote i got from a forwarded text message: "it hurts when the person you love loves someone else and all you can do is continue loving him, watch him from a distance. you just walk away and say to yourself, "there goes my life"... it actually summarizes what i feel exactly. as of this moment, right now. every single freaking day. i go to his office and i'm reminded that he has a life with another woman. a seemingly happy life. eats up at me, really. i just am SO confused and paranoid and overwhelmed. i dunno why i'm working anymore. am i working for myself or for him or because of him? am i going insane? or am i just stupid? ok. don't answer that.
so many things have happened to me since i last posted... there was this incident with a co-worker who was fairly close to him and we got into a sort of falling out. i say "sort of" because i had NO IDEA what the fuck her problem was. and so i totally felt it that he was taking sides when that happened and i really hated him for a while. it was confirmed because apparently, other people felt the same way, or at least saw that he does take sides. bad trait to have, but i guess that's him.
so anyway, we've moved from one building to another (temporarily) and now it's been KINDA easier to see him everyday. i miss him, in the way that i don't really get to hang out with him anymore; our mode of communication is through instant messaging... which inadvertently, is the highlight of this blog. simply because he actually admitted he had a crush on me on said IM. of course when he wrote that, my heart skipped a beat, my knees went weak, i freaked out in my head, i tried so hard not to scream and i just totally went insane! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH! if you knew me, you'd be laughing hysterically now. so yah. that made my week. maybe my year. i dunno.
and then there's this thing about getting people to volunteer to be OICs (officer in charge) and i was told by one of my co-workers that i should do that, i told her, i need to hear it from him. i need to know that he needs me. because there's this other girl at work, someone i USED to be close with and now for some weird reason, we've drifted apart. i just know things like that. you get caught up in your own world and next thing you know, months had gi=one by and you're not the same people as you were the lats time you were together. and i feel like people are pitting us against each other. i mean, he's really, really impressed with her and that just makes me green. yah, ok, envious. it just kills me. and now, people are pushing me to do this OIC thing, when the one person whose opinion matters the most wouldn't even open up a conversation about it with me. which just blows.
gosh it feels so good writing stuff down. not keeping it bottled up inside, ya know? coz THAT would really kill you. yah huh it's true.
so ok. maybe i'll shut up and save the rest for this month. hopefully with my upcoming VL, i get to fill this up some more. toodles!

pends... choices... and OB
then there's this SERIOUS infatuation with a co-worker/boss/married guy with a kid/has a really cute butt/is really H-O-T-T/my dream guy/huge flirt/really smart and funny!Ü i just can't stop thinking about the guy and now, it's getting even worse cause i work for/with him and i see him everyday and it's driving me nuts and i just want to have sex with him to get it over with! whew! there. i said it. well... wrote it. in a blog. online. on the world wide web. damn.
did i mention i bought an ipod? and now i want to upgrade it? haha! i'm just obsessed with music! aahh! justin timberlake's new song "sexy back" is like da bomb! he's like, so flexible and so knows what he's doing and timbaland helping didn't hurt at all. and speaking of timbaland, he has a song with nelly furtado too, "promiscuous"... hawt! ;) then there's jessica simpson's song. public affair. why i like it, i don't know, but it has that whole madonna-80's vibe to it... hmm... whatever..... went shopping again! haha! love it when my money goes somewhere. bought a jacket, shoes, boots, a bag, jewelry...
and now, because of my lust for this one guy, i'm in a "love song" mood... downloading everything from shanice to jennifer love hewitt to mariah carey... wow. this guy's pretty amazing cause he's made me do something i haven't done in a long time... it's complicated, kids. go to sleep! ta-ta!

impossible mission (force) hehe! and the BEST finale ever! (well, so far ;))
say something - mariah carey and snoop dogg
OK. i'll try to critique the first "blockbuster" movie of 2006... here goes...
except for tom cruise, ving rhames, jonathan rhys meyers, (the fantastic) lawrence fishburne and the rest of the cast, M.I.:3 might as well have been called Alias The Movie. considering it was directed by the creator of the aforementioned show (J.J. Abrams), M.I.:3 applied almost all of the techniques that made sydney bristow and her C.I.A. friends famous their first (and second and third and fourth...) year out.
stickwitu - pussycat dolls (listening to the whole album, actually)
i mean, from the very beginning, it was so alias! from the 20-minute intro to the thingy inside the prisoner's brain to the adrenaline-injecting scene to the damn music! i mean, i half-expected irina derevko or sark to come out!
that said, i actually appreciated it more than the first two installments. loved the bridge scene that was kinda reminiscent of true lies... hmm... noticing a pattern here? OK. i have to say, i was kinda disappointed with keri russell's role in the film. i mean, i thought SHE was the love interest. whatever, tom cruise. keri russell's the same age (or close to) as your wife! gimme a break! little sister my ass. no offense to your leading lady, but thandie newton would've whooped her ass!
anyway, on to the BEST news! OTH ROCKED DA HOUSE! the season finale was just AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! TEN THUMBS UP TO MARK SCHWAHN! dude, you're da man! besides directing the season's last episode, schwahn is also the ingenius creator of this fantabulous show... the ending scene just choked me. NATHAN!
i have to admit, sophia bush was really something in her scenes with chad and hilarie (OK, hint: none of them were laughing)... i mean, she was pissed off! he!
but naley just still takes my breath away. i mean, joy was awesome! she was so fantastic just standing there helpless and screaming and desperate. and james. oh. my. gosh. did i tell you i love you yet?

can't wait to go to bora!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! major planning and preparation ito... i bought some clothes already, bag na lang... i really want a red one... i think you'll look stylish and sleek if you have red luggage...
when i was watching eight below yesterday, i think i was the only one crying! i didn't care... kakaawa mga doggie eh... they were left in antarctica for 175 days to fend for themselves :( but the movie's really good and i guess that surprised me a little. plus, a little paul walker didn't hurt one bit! ;)
look after you - the fray
i am loving this band, the fray... as always, they were featured in OTH and i am so inlove with their song look after you... hmm... wonder why i'm listening to it now?! hehe.
i just love this season!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OTH gets better and better everyday! wow! we all want a season 4! can't wait what happens when nathan jumps in the water to save his loved ones... i heard haley was going to go after him (and ruin that gorgeous gown :()
another song to love: we belong together by gavin degraw.
JEYTON is back! :D
OK. it is goshdarnit hot in here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! gotta go take a shower... catch ya later guys.

hungry and sleepy... what's new?
fell asleep hungry, woke up hungry... what's new? whatever. sometimes i just really hate money. especially when i don't have a lot of it and when i have to pay off debts for it...
angel - amanda perez
OK. i have a new crush. riley smith. really hot. i thought i'd seen him somewhere! he was kyle singer in 24!!!! see, i was watching this movie, spring break, shark attack (i know. pathetic. i just woke up ok?) and i saw him and he was hot... so, thought i'd imdb him. he's so summery... like he belongs in california or something... i love his look. so cute, hot, sexy. he's fine... apparently he's from iowa... hmm... makes you wonder...
tru love - faith evans
can't stop thinking about one other person though... wow. so favorite number ko sya ganon? whatever. but can't help it. he's so charming and sweet and funny and smart and cute and hot and entertaining (wink!) and a gentleman and mysterious...
slow jamz - twista feat. jamie foxx
haha! one thing. i woke up 6pm sat i thought my alarm didn't go off and i was late for work. umm, workaholic much? yah i think so... it's so funny! i'm just exhausted i think.

dare to walk the line
Review by: Mark Englehart
Starring: Joaquin Phoenix, Reese Witherspoon
8 out of 10 stars: "The only time you're allowed to talk to me is onstage," Reese Witherspoon says to Joaquin Phoenix near the end of Walk the Line, and they're words well spoken, for when either of these two stars are performing, separate or together, this movie comes electrifyingly to life. As Johnny Cash, legendary man in black, and June Carter Cash, his lifetime love, Phoenix and Witherspoon do most of their romancing, flirting, courting and fighting while they're singing in front of an audience, as opposed to when they're alone together. Offstage, they're halting and shy, or obstinate and angry, all surface emotions that barely scratch the surface of their dialogue; onstage, however, they buzz with an energy that's giddy and intoxicating, communicating a wealth of emotions and enacting what can only be called a modern day mating dance. Hovering closer to each other over a microphone than they ever do in real life, they come so tantalizingly close as they sing, mouths almost next to each other, that to kiss would seem almost anticlimactic - not to mention that it would take away from the incredible music they're making. And when they sing, Walk the Line pulses with a life you can rarely find anywhere these days in a movie world where the artificial passes for reality.
As for the rest of the movie, well, despite those great performances and a studious, earnest attention to detail, Walk the Line is an aggressively standard biopic, in both its form and execution. The structure is no different from any other celeb story you've seen, as it's told in flashback, hits all the high (and low) points at the appropriate times, and by the end puts its flawed yet iconic hero on the right track to fame and fortune and immortality. To say such rote things about this movie, though, is to neglect the sizzle that Phoenix and Witherspoon give it, and their performances alone are enough to make it great and worthy of notice - much as Jamie Foxx did for Ray last year. This time out, however, the two stars (unlike Foxx) do their own singing, and their performances, both musical and non-musical, lift Walk the Line from its rather standard conception. Of course, it doesn't hurt that it tells the story of one of the great 20th century romances, that the music is phenomenal, and that it's all handsomely, lovingly mounted with just the right amount of reverence. Were that it was as bold as its hero and heroine, though -- that movie would knock your socks off.
There's a reason middling directors are attracted to biopics - they're an easy format to work within, and allow just the right amount of creativity and expression before bumping up against a border that keeps it all within its shape; it's the cinematic equivalent of coloring within the lines. When great directors try it, like Martin Scorsese with The Aviator, the result is artsy mess that doesn't get to either the heart of its main character or its director; when adventurous directors try it, like Julie Taymor with Frida, the result is something unabashedly fun and daring, but you leave feeling more a kinship with the art than the artist. (Of course, when bad directors go at it, you get a campy mess like De-Lovely or Beyond the Sea.) But when, well, okay directors try it, what you get is something rather safe, at times dull, and only fitfully illuminating about the characters it portrays. Taylor Hackford achieved similar results with Ray, which was certainly entertaining if manipulative, and gave sparkles and shimmers to a story that could have been told as easily within a VH-1 documentary. Similarly, James Mangold does the same with Walk the Line, drawing the outlines of Cash's life with big, broad strokes that never threaten to go off the page, and connecting the salient points of the singer's life like so many dots.
With Cash's seminal concert at Folsom State Prison as its choice of framing device, Walk the Line immediately flashes back to its protagonist's poor childhood picking cotton alongside his cold father (Robert Patrick), loving mother (Shelby Lynne), and adored brother, Jack (Lucas Till). From there it's a short jump to Jack's tragic death in a tablesaw accident, then a grown-up Johnny's enlistment in the army, his marriage to the young Vivian (Ginnifer Goodwin), and his budding attempts at singing and songwriting. Along the way there are little roadside distractions - there's Johnny crafting the lyrics to "Folsom Prison Blues," there's a young singer named Elvis Presley (Tyler Hilton) recording at Sun Records, there's little Rosanne Cash as a squalling baby - but only a little to flesh out Cash's story. Mangold does dole out tantalizing glimpses, especially Phoenix trying out Cash's trademark growl in his first few songs, but the movie doesn't truly light up until Phoenix gets in front of a microphone, and then it blasts into something resembling pure Technicolor. And when a little spitfire named June Carter comes along, well… it's fireworks all around.
Shucking off the trappings around them - namely Jerry Lee Lewis (Waylon Payne), Roy Orbison (Johnathan Rice), and the aforementioned Presley - Phoenix and Witherspoon hone in on each other with the precision of sharpshooters and dig into both their own characters and each other's. A standard meet-and-greet at an all-night diner is sweet and touching with the right hints of awkwardness and desire, but when he coerces her into singing onstage, then all bets are off and the two actors - and characters - come together with a blissful kind of alchemy rarely seen. It's hard to put words to it, but their give and take is so nuanced, so seductive, so perfect, that you can't help but be caught up in it. And once they've performed together, their interaction infuses the rest of Phoenix and Witherspoon's musical performances, as it seems (as it did in real life) that Johnny and June are singing solely for each other, to express their love and tell their stories.
This chemistry takes the film through both its highlight, a tour in Vegas that culminates in a one-night stand, and its lowlight, Cash's drug addiction and withdrawal. The drug sequences are a bit of a long haul, as this kind of thing has been done much better in other movies, but it is enlivened by nice grace notes; June, protesting to her mother that she doesn't want to get further into Cash's problems, is kindly rebuffed that "Honey, you're already in it." Once Cash is cleaned up and in fighting shape again, the movie speeds towards the Folsom Prison show, an electric performance that's one of the best concert scenes in recent memory, and then to the night of February 22, 1968, when Johnny proposes to June onstage and she finally says yes.
It's in that final scene that the movie earns - and cashes in -- all the emotion and good will it's pent up for its two-hour plus running time, and Phoenix and Witherspoon finally consummate their onstage romance with a passionate kiss. Both actors come together effortlessly, and it's the kind of cathartic, ecstatic embrace that's the stuff of great acting. And despite their opposite approaches to the material, Phoenix and Witherspoon work together with a perfect kind of grace. His Johnny is firmly grounded in a growly kind of Method acting, all angst and grimaces and begging and pleading, with emotions all over the place, while her June is all showbiz sweetness, a smooth surface that belies a wealth of stubbornness and bravery and grit. During most of the movie you certainly get a feeling for their passion, but not the great obsession that spawned the desire of "Ring of Fire." But in their final scenes, however, all the tortured emotions that have ensnared Johnny and June come bubbling to the surface and spill over. And despite Walk the Line's many flaws, it's well worth the wait.
I CANNOT WAIT TO WATCH THIS MOVIE NOW!
impending doom and missing it

tupac
oh my gosh. one of the best documentaries i've seen since bowling for columbine and fahrenheit 9/11... this is so freakin' amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i was a bit confused and not-too-informed about the whole east-coast, west-coast, tupac-vs.-biggie thing so this film really cleared things up for me.
i got to see a side of someone he doesn't show to a lot of people, i think. this was so beautifully done. kudos to lauren lazin! amazing job:)
i just checked it on imdb.com and turns out eminem had ahand in producing some of the songs for the soundtrack... it kicks ass, em! the thing is, i LOVE hiphop and rap and r&b and all that, but in the height of tupac's fame, i was kinda "scared" to listen to his music, and i guess i was still too young to understand it all... but now, when i watched the movie and then heard the songs they used, i LOVED THEM ALL!!!! my fave right now is the same song i'm playing : runnin'. it just kills!
i loved it so much because 1. i was re-exposed to this type of music again, and this time i appreciate it 100% 2. i finally found out the "truth" about what exactly happened with tupac and biggie and the whole shooting thing... i still love the part when their moms hugged at the VMAs. that was really special.
tupac was a phenom. i mean, he can actually back that mouth up! he can say stuff and he makes sense! granted that not everyone listens, but he is heard. 33.5 million records sold is no joke. i love that he was man enought to admit that jail changes you... for the worse. he said he was drained and uninspired and that he wasn't able to write anything. tupac was pretty deep. if you actually TAKE TIME to LISTEN to his songs ans understand and analyze, you realize that what he's talking about doesn't stray too far from what martin luther king, jr said or what the black panthers were fighting for. i now know what he stood for, what he was saying and who he was talking to. thank God for this movie. you're missing half of your life if you still haven't seen this.
missing you - tyler hilton
and now to the landmark ONE TREE HILL episode. it.rocked.period. naley was just perfection. the whole always and forever thing just made me choke up! and the protective naley was something and the handholding! i love this show! apart from the naleys and leytons, this show matters because it tackles a sensitive subject and was done in really good taste.
this quote just kills me:

This cruelty, this hatred, how did it find us?
Did it steal into our lives, or did we seek it out and embrace it?
What happened to us?
That we now send our children into the world like we send young men to war...
Hoping for their safe return...But knowing that some will be lost along the way.
When did we lose our way?
Consumed by the shadows, swallowed whole by the darkness.
Does this darkness have a name?
Is it your name?
oh! the best! this entire episode was da bomb! it just rocked. and now, for my fave naley moments:

all work, work, work... some play
last saturday, i went home like, 2:30 pm coming from a 10pm-7am shift. but i wasn't at all tired! funny enough. i just love my job so much! (hopefully i can say the same thing in like, a couple of months) and also, money's not an issue really. i just feel real easy and happy and satisfied and thankful (very, very, very appreciative, God! thanks!)
i'll catch you - the get up kids
i love the fact that even though my workplace is so far away from my house, that i don't have that feeling of being sick and tired of what i've been doing for a whole week. and that's very hard not to do. i mean, people complain all the time about work and money and their boss and co-workers and all that. but i find myself just being thankful and cheery about mine. so weird! but... nice!:)
hope - the submarines
OK. back to OTH. this pic will say it all when the episode airs:

i just can't wait for it to. the preview looks smashing! OK. i can't shut up about OTH. sue me. it's just the greatest show ever! i just love that they're doing a whole Columbine-type episode this march. can't wait!
as for the prev ep... this is one of my fave moments:

heehee!
i love my job and all, but O.T. everyday is getting ridiculous. it's either we have such a shitload of work piled up or i'm doing something wrong prioritizing stuff...

just trying to kill the buzz. i'm not high or anything, just hyped up because of the caffeine i think and also getting so many orders from people.
OK. i will never take a cab again this week. which means, i shouldn't do anymore unpaid O.T.s hee! but i just hate work piling up like that! i know i'll suffer in the end. and now i seem to have to wake up early just to get a jumpstart on work later. whatever! i'm loving it! yah. i'm weird. shut up.
OK. i'm blabbering. a sure sign i'm so caffeineited. hee! and i keep writing hee. shit.

5. crash
6. almost famous
7. virgin suicides
8. a walk to remember
9. the notebook
10. blue crush
top 10 albums i'd bring along if i'm stuck in an island:

just the girl i'm looking for - the click five
for some reason, i so love this song right now... cute video too...
OK. a bit of an update. i work for ambergris solutions now as agent/case manager (it's complicated, i'm an inbound AND outbound agent at the same time) saya! in fairness, even if the work is really heavy and sometimes confusing (because of the different spiels i have to say and different type of work i have to do for each), masaya and enjoy pa rin... kahit malayo, happy pa rin ako kse i know i'm being productive and the people around me are so supportive and talented and amazing. swerte ko tlga. and to think that the new year and God gave this to me. saktong jan 1, may trabaho agad ako after only a few weeks of resigning... thank You tlga, Lord!plus, the people are so great! my team's fantastic and my team captain is fabulous! another thing why my batch is so incredible? we're the first one. hehe.

we didn't start the fire - billy joel
i dunno what to feel right now... excitement, fear, nervousness, dazed, confused, sleepy, hungry... worry... maybe more of the last one because we're supposed to graduate this week and we should all pass!!!!!!!!!!!!
OK. so i've been making my own mixes and stuff and people have started to order cd compilations and so far, OK naman... kanina pala "nag-shopping" kme ni mavic... which was overshadowed by my contact lens panic. when i got home and took them off, what should i see in the mirror but the layer of my eye blowing up like a fucking balloon in my eye! putangina talaga! kala ko i had to be operated on, ganon ka-serious. pero thank God again that the doctor (who was actually kinda cute;)) said that it'll be OK and i just need to rest my eyes for a week (no contacts :() and just put the drops i bought 4x a day...
if - dragmatic
got my backpay... measely 8,000 for a year and a month's stay... wow. thank you ha.

aching, but happy
that's what my body feels right now. shit. and i still have two more cds to finish (orders)... the song i'm listening to right now's really cute. i have a newfound appreciation for sheryl crow. before, like 1997 or something, i really liked her. every song she comes out with i love... but not until she released soak up the sun and the first cut is the deepest that i, shall we say, was reintroduced to her and i'm loving her songs now just as i did before.
someday (unplugged) - mariah carey
i love bearshare! it's so fast! love it! love it! love it!
going back to work tomorrow and yah i love my new job... love it! the people are nice, my co-trainees are funny, happy, nice; a pretty dynamic group, actually. made new friends already. and our trainer, kim, she's awesome! really funny too...
jackson 5 medley - nsync
OK. so i went to the NBI renewal center in megamall last thursday and i couldn't believe that at 10 am (right when the mall opened) it had aline from the ground floor right up to the 6th fucking floor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! never seen anything like that before. and now i'm paying for it because i wore high heeled shoes (i wasn't expecting to go there, but i wanted to kill 2 birds with 1 stone and look where it got me). so much for thinking! whatever.
tim mcgraw and nsync medley
wow. saturday just passed me by. amazing what sleep can do!:) haha! i'm just downloading some tunes for the orders i got from a friend... nice music selection... funny how a person's music preferences say so much about them when they don't say a word talking about themselves:) did i say that i love bearshare? i do! hehe!
remember this: 10,000 :)
think positive! be happy! thank God ALWAYS! ciao!

merry christmas dudes!
ok. so i didn't know that there were actually PHOTO blogs. just goes to show how Internet-illiterate i am... ha! OK. had a crummy weekend because the job that i always wanted decided to NOT hire me. oh but anyways, their loss! HA!
christmas eve and day were kinda the same: i just drowned in food and more food!hee! but i was touched coz i got lots of text messages from friends wishing me merry christmas and that kinda made my day. thanks you guys!
i miss my naley... dammit! if it weren't for these OTH forums, i think i'd go nuts, so thank you to the power of online chatting and the Internet overall. i love ya! OK so my dsl kinda just went dead on me here. fuck. i hope this isn't permanent or anything.
anyway, i got to revisit another one of my fave shows: roswell. yup! that show about teen "aliens" in roswell, new mexico and their adventures (or dare i say, misadventures) here on earth. loved that show so much! i dunno why the wb had to fuck that up too after they did buffy. oh well! entertainment politics, i guess.
well, i was downloading music and i realized i've been putting off making my roswell mix. the review will come a little later. i'm not too happy right now and making a review isn't really my priority. just wanted to wish you guys merry christmas and enjoy your vacation! cheers!

really bad mood
listening to bono's rolling stone interview on itunes (it's a podcast)... love his voice! i haven't downloaded everything yet, so i don't really have an opinion about it. will have to listen to the entire thing maybe later.
i'm just really in a bad mood.
oh. and happy christmas everyone!

etc 2nd avenue
was watching the tube, doing some channel surfing (what's new?) and lo and behold i get to a channel called ETC 2ND AVENUE. i love it now already because it has ellen (i've downloaded some episodes, really funny!) and inside the actor's studio (you should see the one with natalie portman and kiefer sutherland).
the second show i really like because it's completely unedited and the host james lipton and the show's been spoofed several times in SNL... i love that they talk candidly about the actor's (sometimes they have directors on) movies, tv shows, life, favorites... i especially love the questions he asks right before the students get to ask the guest questions... and lipton makes the actors (who know how to) danceÜ it's not an entertainment talk show at all. it focuses on the actor's body of work, some personal history on how they got started, their thoughts on their work and so on... love it! if i can figure out how to put the vids that i have of the portman and sutherland interviews, i would. for now, check out www.bravotv.com this is the home of inside the actor's studioÜ
and now for my naley pic of the month. they finally reunited!!!!!!!!!!! AAAAAHHHHH!!!! can't wait for january! 24 AND OTH! YESSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!

the best blog there is
OK. so it's not a blog. it's actually a podcast. peyton's, to be exact. every time i listen to it (i listen to it almost everyday --- check it on itunes), i just have a "good" feeling about my life. i mean, not because peyton has it bad, no. when ONE TREE HILL first started, i immediately liked peyton. first of all, i'd never heard of a name like that before. secondly, her mysteriousness and the whole i'm-a-cheerleader-but-i-listen-to-punk attittude and the leather jackets and short skirts and curly hair and webcam and drawings. i guess you can say i'm one of the original "leytons" (to those not in the know, that's lucas and peyton for you ;))
tender - feeder
i've gone so far as to listen to the podcasts and transcribe them and just read it and "figure it out". maybe i'm reading too much into it (if there's a pun, sorry!) but i can't help it! it's one of my obsessions, that show and everything about it. and now that they've gone on hiatus and won't be back until january 11, 2006, i dunno what i'll do between now and then! maybe go bonkers. i dunno... but i digress. peyton was one of the characters i could actually relate to; not because i was a cheerleader in high school or i'm pretty or whatever. she felt crap and she wasn't afraid to "show" it (through her paintings and drawings and taste in music). a direct quote that really made me turn around and go, hey! that's me! was this: "- I don't think of my music as depressing - it's, it’s the opposite really, you know? It comforts me, tells me that it's OK to feel sad or scared or alone. And that I'm not alone in how I feel, and that's a part of being alive. It's like a rainy day, you know, a rainy day makes most people sad, OK? You're stuck inside, it's all gloomy, no sunny walk in the park going on but I have to say, I love a rainy day. It's just an excuse to stay inside and drink hot chocolate, hang out in my room or read a book or just have a day to be alone. I don't wanna go on a walk in the park anyway?" ---from podcast 2
that's me! i like the rain! i like being sad and depressed because in a twisted kinda way, that's what makes me happy. drama. ha! it acts like an outlet for me. and it's great because peyton's helping in a way. i dunno. it's like mark schwahn (or whoever writes the podcasts) can read my mind and puts my thoughts in peyton and lets it be heard by millions of people.
for blue skies - strays don't sleep
i actually was waiting for the seventh podcast, but when i watched the 9th episode, i understood why there wasn't any. actually, i felt like peyton's scenes were like her podcast in a way... you'll figure it out when you watch the episode.
there's no harm. go on. you know you want to: http://peytonspodcast1.blogspot.com
anyway, just wanted to write that down before i lose it and it turns into another unwritten thought. later guys.

mundane week... and stereophonics
OK. if somebody told you it was fun not having any work because they've been so tired working all their lives, they're dumb. it's not fun at all. and i would much prefer working my butt off than watching TV/dvds/vcds or going on the internet or sleeping all week long. i just love working. sabi nga ni telle, mahirap ma-tengga.
i'm running our of money and i still don't have a job. don't worry. i'm not panicking. well, maybe. i just don't know it yet. haha! (nervous laugh)
what made my week was watching the last episode of one tree hill before they go on hiatusÜ NALEY IS BACK!!!!!! YAHOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! i was so happy when they showed naley in bed, kissing and then nathan took of his shirt and it revealed the necklace he had his wedding ring on and haley tugged on it and they held hands while kissing. sigh! i just loved that moment! and also before when they were talking. i discovered a new song: for blue skies by matthew ryan. love it! one of the best episodes this season.
rewind - stereophonics
OK. lemme talk about stereophonics for a while. without one tree hill, i wouldn't have gotten to know this awesome band. this song, rewind, actually reminds me of my favorite band of all time, u2. the style and sound, rhythm and progression of the song has a little u2 in it. love it! the lyrics in all their songs are really thought-provoking. i don't know. i love how the song goes "if you could rewind your time, would it change your life?" makes you think, right?
tender - feeder; for blue skies - matthew ryan
i'm checking out their site right now: www.stereophonics.com pretty cool. i actually wouldn't consider them a pop band. more like rock meets melancholy and breathing. kinda difficult reading their history, though. you have to drag the article left to right to read it... but love the website. so they started 1996 and had member changes and stuff. but the songs, the albums, the lyrics, the thoughts... they're so amazing! their songs do have depth and edge and realization... the media section of the site is accessed if you're registered, so go ahead and check out the awesome site now!!!
this other band, feeder. i have no idea where they come from, i'm googling them right now, though. what do you know? they have their own site too: www.feederweb.com wow! "The intoxicating, piano-led 'Tender' completes the circle between John Lennon and Coldplay." - this was an actual review of my favorite song of theirsÜ so happy! that's quite a complement. no wonder i love this song so much!Ü can't get enough of it! i mean, "turn over everything, time can heal us again, i'm tender in your arms" thos lyrics just melt me!!!!

blah, blah, blah
i resigned. ha! i just wanted to get outta there, ya know? i just wanted to leave and never come back. the heartache and disappointment and embarrassment that company has done to me is totally unforgivable... if only i had enemies there instead of friends, i wouldn't go back. now i'm officially a B-U-M (again) and i'm finding myself wanting to work again (in another company)...
tender - feeder
i mean, i love resting, but monotony's not really my thing... i mean, i spend so much time on the computer, i could start my own business here! i just hate talking about money, that's all. money brings all loads of crap to you. sure, it can sometimes make you "happy", but it can only go so far...
this song that's playing has a very beautiful message... love the lyrics. OK. i'm not gonna talk about OTH... sorry coz i just love it so much right now! it's so fucking amazing, this show! the storyline/s are getting better and better and the naley romance is soooooooooo well-arched! i love that they're "slowly" getting back together and that there's hope. i saw one movie/tv show one time with a character talking about hope; i just forgot which one it was. i can almost see that charcter's face... but damn! if i don't remember that movie/tv show!
i sure hope they don't hold my salary tomorrow... i worked my butt for that, dammit! plus, that's the bonus, so they better not keep it from me.
putting up a business is sounding more and more like a good idea. might as well get something for nothing right? haha! whatever.

the weight is a gift
that's my new motto right now... or at least a phrase i currently live by. the weight is a gift. i can't tell you how much comfort OTH (one tree hill) is for me... and even though peyton's been a bitch to haley lately, her podcasts still affect me a lot... this phrase actually came from her --- it's a title of a nada surf album... and they have a song that she apparently loves a lot: always love. you guessed it! i love it too. has a really great message and just over-all really good. i've known of nada surf maybe 3 years ago or so, because of roswell... and then the o.c. featured one of their songs again, if you leave; and now OTH... pretty much means they're an awesome band with something to say.
i'm feeling you - santana & the wreckers
another song that i'm completely obsessed with right now... it helps that santana had worked with half of the wreckers before (michelle branch) and the vibe is still there. they go well together i should say...
empty apartment - yellowcard
for some time i've been playing this really loud music for everyone to hear. i just think it's ingenius, the way the singer sounds so young, like a teenager and how earnest he is about being alone and sad...
so here we are - bloc party
i just love the music... i can barely understand the singer! ;) but it's all good... i remember nathan dribbling a ball when i hear thisÜ
son's gonna rise and sideways - citizen cope
this guy has an amazing voice. very distinct. the 1st song, i really liked coz it's was "glidy" and smooth and sexy and it was in really fun scenes in OTH... the 2nd song's a total contrast. very moody, dark, sad, broody, desperate, aching. the lyric: "these feelings won't go away, they be knocking me sideways"... gosh! is there anything more terrible? oh, and did i mention santana's in it too? made it even hotter! ;)
come on - ben jelen
hopeful and poignant. great kissing song. hehe!
lapdance - n.e.r.d.
pharell is da man! anything they punch out is great. this one's no exception. from the start, it's hot! real bad. i just remember nathan getting out of the car on this one. real appropriate for him, i think.
walking into the sun - dirty vegas
good song if you're in the mood for "change" or just being "alive". inspirational and gives resolution. fearless.
sugar, we're going down - fall out boy
even though it's a new, poppy song, it still has grit to it. the lyrics are insane. where have you heard "a loaded God complex, cock it and pull it"??? but it works!Ü the beat is "catchy"...
those so far are my fave songs from OTH and of late... my taste is basically changing from one to another... heavily influenced by this amazing show. i can't say enough great things about OTH. it's just the best show out there; in terms of drama, teen/young adult/even adult relationships are very well written and explored by the writers. plus the fact that they pick such fantastic music selections for every single episode! you can't help but fall madly in love!
