salt-y goodness on a weekend

i had seen salt before i got to watch inception last friday and i have to say, that was the way to go. if i had seen inception before salt, i think i would have been completely disappointed. nothing against salt, i loved it - but inception is a whole other level of movie making (see previous blog).

what impressed me about salt the most though was angelina herself. the script was good, a little predictable (i was able to guess her true identity and some of the plot points, but not the bunk scene) but it worked to her advantage. it was kinda like a female version of the bourne identity, though in reverse. besides all of that, angelina was right on on everything - from the look to the accent to the action stunts. those were the most impressive! there was a scene where she starts to climb a wall and then kicks against it to stick it to a guard. THAT was cool!

i liked how she played it DOWN, not exaggerated the role. if anybody else had done the part, i think it would have fallen flat on its face, and all the awesome action sequences would have gone to waste. angelina made it work and she never faltered with the story.

i REALLY loved the ending. i wasn't expecting it, and that was the best thing about it. i have to say that british actor chiwetel ejiofor stole the show. i absolutely LOVED him! you should look him up and watch another one of his movies... first time i saw him was on love actually =)

i didn't know there was news about a russian spy that surprisingly came after the movie premiered - eerie coincidence? i'll leave it to the conspiracy theorists out there. but i have to say that this was a really fun ride all throughout. another must-see from ms. jolie ♥
