revolutionary road

this one was really tough for me to take. from the get-go, it hits you. i was so excited hearing about this reunion that i didn't really research on the movie (which i usually do - especially if it's adapted from a book). i was so shocked the first time i saw it. but the depth and richness and shame and pain and distress and brutal honesty and just mind-boggling things said and done in this film was just astounding. leo and kate were just phenomenally spectacular. i'm not being biased, i just happen to really love them both and i thought this film was their best work yet (i haven't seen the reader - will do next week). i loved leo's insensitive, too-sensitive, insecure Frank. he just wanted a perfect life. unfortunately, his wife wanted more. kate's April was so amazingly haunting. she was brilliant! i hope people who appreciate true cinema woudl watch this and be as enthralled as i was. it's a mouth-hanging-open kind of film. check it out!
